The United Soccer League announced its 2020 USL Championship All-League Teams on Wednesday, Oct. 28 to honor standout performers from across the league.

Louisville City FC led the league with four USL first-team selections, while 11 total clubs had players selected among the 22 honorees.

The 23-year-old Bruno Lapa burst onto the scene in Birmingham this year, starting all 17 matches for Birmingham in his rookie season. The Wake Forest product went on to lead the team in chances created (35) and in shots (26), share a top spot for the team lead in assists (5) and finish second in goals (8). The midfielder finished the season as one of only two players in the Championship to tally at least eight goals and five assists – the other being 2019-2020 league MVP Solomon Asante of Phoenix Rising FC.

Alex Crognale, 26, started every match in his first season with Legion FC and missed just six minutes of play all season. The former Columbus Crew defender doubled the next highest teammate in clearances on the year (75), and also led the team in blocks (17), passes (930), aerial duels (52) and aerial duels won (37). Crognale additionally finished third on the team in interceptions (16), tied for third in goals (3), put up the fifth-most shots (13) and had the seventh-most tackles (13).

Forward Cameron Lancaster led Louisville City’s honorees, earning the second First Team All-League selection of his career after recording 10 goals and two assists in the regular season. He was joined by three first-time selections with goalkeeper Ben Lundt, defender Sean Totsch and midfielder Speedy Williams all earning their first All-League honors after their standout campaigns.

Three players were again named to the All-League First Team, with the Tampa Bay Rowdies’ Forrest Lasso named to the team for the fourth consecutive and both Phoenix Rising FC’s Solomon Asante and Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC’s Kenardo Forbes earning back-to-back nominations.

Lasso’s teammate Jordan Scarlett was named to the All-League Second Team, as was Rufat Dadashov, Asante’s teammate in Phoenix.

2020 USL Championship All-League selections were voted on by club management and a league-wide media panel that included representation from every USL market.
