If you have been living under a rock, then you have been missing “Dancing with the Stars” taking the internet by storm.
“Dancing with the Stars” has been on the air for the last twenty years but recently, with the help of TikTok, has been blowing up more than usual due to people’s love (or hate) for the stars.
Every single week this season the all-time record for votes from America has been beat, showing this year’s cast’s popularity. With stars like Andy Richter, Robert Irwin and Alix Earle, it has been attracting so many different audiences to begin watching and truly interacting with the show.
There are some serious controversies this season and one of the ones I feel the biggest about is Andy Richter’s involvement in the show. I adore the fact that people love that he is trying his hardest and people think he is so much fun to watch but I think people are forgetting what “Dancing with the Stars” is all about. It is about getting the star who is the best dancer to win.
Richter is not a good dancer regardless of him making small baby steps forward every week. I love that he is loving his time here and showing people he can stay based on America’s love for him, but he could have proved that and still left two weeks ago.
People like Robert Irwin came in with no dance experience and have excelled in this competition, which to me is an example of a true underdog. Robert Irwin has not only improved every week, but he has brought such joy and passion to the dance floor as well as he has earned the love of Americans.
Another big opinion I have is that I am not a fan of Whitney Levitt.
I think the only reason she is still here is because Carrie Ann Inaba favors her; dedication week Whitney was completely off the timing and Carrie Ann was the only judge that didn’t let that timing issue affect Whitneys scores. I don’t understand why they like her so much and continue to give her good scores because her timing is poor and her dancing isn’t the best.
After Rock and Roll Hall of fame night the couples that are left are Alix and Val, Dylan and Daniella, Robert and Whitney, Jordan and Ezra, Elaine and Alan, Andy and Emma and Whitney and Mark.
If Andy or Whitney don’t go home next week then the people that keep voting for them are doing the viewers of the show a disservice.
Keep up with Dancing with the Stars on Instagram.
