In this sports segment, we met with senior wide receiver Kelvin “K.J” McKnight in a quick game of “Overrated? Underrated?” McKnight currently leads the team in receptions, yards and touchdowns among the Samford receivers. This is a game where we give KJ several random topics and he responds with either “Overrated?” or ‘Underrated?’ and explains his response.

Kelvin McKnight: Definitely underrated. It’s one of the quickest ways to get famous.
J: Teachers at Samford – Overrated or Underrated?
K: Some are underrated. Greatly appreciated because they understand it’s hard being a student-athlete.
J: Sliding in the DMs – overrated or underrated?
K: Definitely overrated. Anyone can do it. I feel like it’s only good if you are far away from a person. In-person conversation is always better.
J: Granola – overrated or underrated?
K: Overrated. It is not a go-to snack. For me, it’s more of something to eat when you’re very hungry.
J: The Caf – overrated or underrated?
K: Depends. It only excites you if you are new to Samford.
J: Snapchat – Overrated or underrated?
K: Underrated. It isn’t appreciated enough. One of the best apps ever.
McKnight and the Bulldogs have their next challenge against SoCon opponent Western Carolina this Saturday at Seibert Stadium. The game will start at 12:30p.m. CST and air on ESPN3.
