Last Thursday, Samford kicked off the Thanksgiving season with its annual Greeksgiving event.
Greeksgiving was held on Brewer Plaza and the Quad, where students in Greek life were invited to connect with other Greek students, each donuts from the Son’s Donut Truck on Brewer, and to play on the several inflatables on the Quad.
Such inflatables included a Wipe-out inflatable, a slide and obstacle course, and a boxing ring inflatable.
While the event was meant to connect the Greek community, it was also rising money for a good cause.
“Greeksgiving is so important because it’s a great opportunity for all of the Greek organizations to come together and support each other around the end of the year,” said Kyndall Jones, member of Alpha Omicron Pi. “Also it’s a very good way to donate to the Bell Center, which helps with early childhood intervention and helps with speech therapy and other ways to help the kids who are suffering currently.”
The Bell Center is a local organization started in 1984, and their awareness for intervention has not stopped.
Besides Greeksgiving, Samford Greek Life is helping the Bell Center with their Krispy Kreme Drive.
Samford students who buy a dozen donuts will have 15% of the proceeds go to the Bell Center.
