Samford’s Athletic Department issued a post on the Samford Sports website claiming it will announce a statement regarding the men’s basketball program on Monday, April 6 at 10 a.m.

This announcement is believed to be the hiring of Mountain Brook high school coach Bucky McMillan, according to AL.com.

The 36-year-old has led Mountain Brook to five state championships and has gathered recruits from across the nation during his 12-year tenure with the Spartans.

The statement can be viewed on the Samford Athletic Department’s official website, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram on Monday.
