Well-known comedian Chonda Pierce, will be coming to the Wright Center to liven up the Samford community.

According to her website, “Pierce has been a stand-up comedian, television hostess, author, and is now an actress.”

Her website says her career began at the Opryland Theme Park where she starred in the “Grand Ole Opry” as Minnie Pearl. However, Pierce was a terrible dancer and received much criticism from her boss.

However, instead of abandoning her career, Pierce was able to find a way to keep her job and was eventually able to find her future career in comedy.

“Pierce has channeled her life experiences into positivity, bringing laughter to audiences around the country,” states the website.

Pierce has come across many adverse situations, not only with herself, but with her family as well. Pierce was able to open up about her experiences of depression and loss and use them for her comedic performances.

Pierce will be performing at the Wright Center on Nov. 17 from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. In order to attend this event, purchase tickets on the Samford Wright Center website. Ticket costs range from $33-38 for individuals and groups.

For more information about Chonda Pierce and her upcoming performances visit her website.
