BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (March 28, 2024) – A consignment sale will be held on April 5, 2024, in the Howard Room on Samford University’s campus to support Togetherness Project to raise awareness around mental health. The event will begin at 3 p.m. and stay open until 7 p.m. so people in the greater Birmingham area can support, shop, and socialize.
The event will be open to the public for a time to shop from donated clothes, support Togetherness Project’s mission, and socialize with friends. Snacks and drinks will be provided for those who show up to the event. It will be a time of community to bring awareness to the need for mental health resources and tools, especially among young adults and college students.
“One of the reasons why I am really excited about this consignment shop sale with Togetherness Project is we see so many students who either can’t get into practitioners or therapists or counselors because they are so full,” said executive director of Togetherness Project, Melody Lovvorn. “We want to use the proceeds of this consignment sale to actually help students not only find counselors, therapists, and counselors, but also to pay for it because many students can’t afford it.”
